Harpy Kaur, Psychologist

Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Business (Marketing), Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), Master of Psychology (Clinical)

Hello, my name is Harpy (she/her). I'm a psychologist and I support young adults and culturally linguistically diverse (CALD) people to better cope with their distress, achieve their goals, and make sense of their relationship with themselves and other people.

My clients often arrive to therapy feeling depleted and uncertain of the path ahead. Through our work together, they typically leave feeling more confident and at ease with who they are, equipped with the tools to meet life's challenges as they come.

I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are presenting with:

  • Anxiety & OCD

  • Trauma & PTSD

  • Attachment, identity, and interpersonal challenges

  • Adjustment to medical diagnoses, health events and chronic conditions

I am trauma-informed, culturally-inclusive, gender-affirming and neuro-affirming.

In my personal time enjoy practising yoga and pilates, cooking, learning Bhangra, gardening, and when possible, a swim in the ocean.

My Approach

My own lived experience as a first generation immigrant shapes the way I show up for my clients. It informs my commitment to inclusive, culturally sensitive, and affirming care and my belief that feeling genuinely understood is a foundation for real change.

I work alongside my clients at a pace that feels right for them, taking time to understand what has brought someone to therapy and what they hope to gain from it. My approach is recovery-oriented and strengths-based, less focused on what's "wrong," and more curious about what you have experienced, the impact that has had, and where you want to go. I regularly seek feedback to make sure our work together is meeting your goals.

Having worked across private, public health and education settings with clients of all ages, I've developed the ability to sit with complexity and support people with layered presentations in a way that feels calm, grounded, and human. I strive to create a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and affirming, one where your culture, identity, and broader life context are central to how we work.

I understand how important it is to find the right psychologist, someone you feel comfortable and confident in working with.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to all clients, for you to get a sense of whether I am the right fit for you.

There’s no pressure for you book a full session afterwards. You can use this opportunity to ask any therapy related questions too.
